SKETCHES

Ornate element of a building

This picture represents a section of a building. I used pencils (graphite) due to their suitability for this type of drawing and create contrast between dark and light. I used white tempera where I wanted to emphasize illuminated spots. In my town, Satu Mare, exists a lot of buildings which have these elements in their structure. It is extraordinary to admire and draw them because in this way the artist can show that it is worth taking care of historical buildings. This is why I also chose to crayon it. The greatness comes from how people could imagine these interesting forms of art which give a note of beauty to the entire construction.
Neighbourhood in Netherlands

This part of my portfolio shows blocks of flats in a village in Netherlands. I used black pen to outline this fascinating technique and I included it in my portfolio because it is an example of line drawing. Moreover, I was so impressed by this style that I wanted to sketch it. Not only was the timeless allure of the street less contaminated with the traditional souvenir shops, but people had also made a habit of taking care of their surroundings, trying to keep safe their emblematic forms of art.

Heydar Aliyev Centre Sketch

This is Zaha Hadid's building drawn with the help of a white pen and pencils on a black sheet of paper. Zaha Hadid's designs are unique and they fascinate me by the fact that they are an endless form of imagination. These works of art display a modern style and along with their shapes, they reflect the strong personality that Zaha Hadid had. I chose to draw one of her creations because, in my opinion, she is one of the architects who introduced a distinctive approach in the culture of Architecture.
